Information about the community



The arrival day is all day, July 2nd, 2017, in Wemotaci.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PARTICIPATING COMMUNITY AND THE INDIGENOUS INTER-BAND GAMES OF WEMOTACI 2017

In order to ensure a safe and pleasant stay, the Indigenous Inter-Band Games of Wemotaci 2017 commit to providing every participating community with the proper assistance, service and information.

Designated by the band council as Head of Mission, I certify that I read the general rules of the Indigenous Inter-Band Games of Wemotaci 2017 and that the information provided in the forms are exact. I also gave a copy of the rules to the Head of Mission and the chaperones who will be present at the IIGB.

The Head of Mission and chaperones commit to setting a good example and to have an attitude of constant supervision, care and safety toward the participants, which are under their care 24/7.

We also commit to taking complete responsibility of all actions and behaviours of each person in our community.

General Rules

Respect

  • Any form of violence, intimidation and vandalism are not tolerated. Appropriate and polite language must be used at all times and in all places;
  • Respect is expected in all relations: between IIBG2017 volunteers, officials, Head of Mission, chaperones and all participants.

The Cleanliness of the Site

  • Keep ALL areas clean at all times: competition site, accommodation centres, changing rooms, washrooms and cafeteria;
  • Do not litter. Trash must be put in the garbage. If a garbage can is full, use another garbage;
  • You will be provided with garbage bags on the opening day, at the registration. No trash should be found on the floor or in the accommodation centers during the entire time of your stay.
  • Places to drop your trash (during games, competitions and your used garbage bags) will be at your disposal.
  • Leaders in charge and chaperones must repeat to their participants to put their trash in the garbage cans at all times: after eating snacks and meals, in the bleachers and at competition sites.
  • ALL areas, including washrooms and showers, must stay clean at all times.

Head of Mission, coaches and chaperones

  • Head of Mission, coaches and chaperones from every community must make sure that their whole delegation behaves in an acceptable manner so that there is no trouble of any kind either inside or outside of our infrastructures.
  • TheHead of Mission and chaperones commit to setting a good example and to having an attitude of constant supervision, care and safety toward the participants, which are under their care 24/7.

Smoking, Food and Beverage Consumption

  • Alcohol and drug use is prohibited at all times. Any person found using either alcohol and/or drugs will be expelled immediately and won’t be able to participate in the IIBG2017 for the following days.
  • For safety reasons, energy drinks consumption is not tolerated during competitions hours (Monster, Redbull, etc.).
  • All food wrappers must be thrown in the garbage. It is forbidden to eat or drink inside all sports installations, except for the bleachers.
  • Water is indispensable for all participants’ health and safety. It is the only beverage that is tolerated everywhere.
  • Tobacco consumption is authorized only in designed areas. If someone is found smoking outside those zones, their delegation will receive a sanction.

Sports Equipment Lending Service

  • Some sports equipment will be at your disposal. It is your responsibility to bring it back after each use.
  • Any unreturned item will be billed to you at the end of your stay.

Security

  • Security inside accommodation centres and competitions sites is the responsibility of the security department of Wemotaci IIBG2017.
  • In case of accidents or problems, someone from the security department will analyze the situation and make a final decision with IIBG2017 Wemotaci project manager.


Each community is completely responsible for their delegation’s actions and behaviours. They also commit to refund any costs related to incidents caused by their delegation.

Depending on the severity of the incident, the community could receive a sanction and be suspended from the Indigenous Inter-Band Games of Wemotaci 2017.

I commit to fulfill my responsibilities and set a good example for the youth and everyone else present at the Indigenous Inter-Band Games of Wemotaci 2017.
Furthermore, I authorize IIBG of Wemotaci 2017 to make arrangements for appropriate medical or surgical care in the case of an emergency, without having to obtain my authorization prior to those arrangements.
I also authorize IIBG2017 of Wemotaci and the media on site to videotape or take pictures of me and to use that material for campaigns or other projects.

Softball

The IIBG of Wemotaci accept a total of eight (8) teams in the following categories. You can only register one (1) team per category.

  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) women’s benjamin teams;
  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) men’s benjamin teams;
  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) women’s cadet teams;
  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) men’s cadet teams;
  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) women’s juvenile teams;
  • Maximum of eight (8) teams and a minimum of four (4) men’s juvenile teams.

A team can have a maximum of sixteen (16) players. Delegations must provide their own equipment. All bats are authorized. The determination of the host or visiting teams is random (coin).

Only three (3) practice pitches are allowed between innings.

In case of rain, the referee will come to an agreement with the two team captains and choose to end the game. If three and a half innings were already played and the host team is in the lead, the game will be considered played.

Basketball

Soccer

Dek Hockey

The IIBG of Wemotaci accept a total of twelve (12) teams in the following categories. You can only register one (1) team per category.

  • Maximum of twelve (12) teams and a minimum of four (4) coed benjamin teams;
  • Maximum of twelve (12) teams and a minimum of four (4) coed cadet teams;
  • Maximum of twelve (12) teams and a minimum of four (4) coed juvenile teams.


The number of players in the rink is of five (5), comprising one (1) girl. A team is consequently made up of a maximum of fifteen (15) players, comprising a minimum of two (2) girls per team.

A team that is not present at the beginning of a scheduled match will lose by default.

Volleyball

The number of players on the court is of six (6). A maximum of six (6) substitutes is accepted. A minimum of five (5) players is tolerated to start or continue a game.

Canoe Racing

The IIBG of Wemotaci accept a total of two (2) teams in the following categories. You can only register one (1) team per category..

  • Maximum of two (2) women’s cadet teams
  • Maximum of two (2) men’s cadet teams
  • Maximum of two (2) women’s juvenile teams
  • Maximum of two (2) men’s juvenile teams

The length of the canoes is of sixteen (16) feet. The canoes are provided to the teams by IIBG2017, it is thus forbidden to use personal canoes for a race. There will be five (5) canoes available for the competitions.

Each competition start will take place as scheduled in the program. All participants must be at the starting line five (5) minutes before the starting signal.

The distance for the ENDURANCE competition in the cadet category is 1500 metres. For the juvenile category, the distance is 2000 metres.

The distance for the SPEED competition in the cadet category is 500 metres. For the juvenile category, the distance is 1000 metres.

Each game starts by a two-minute warm-up.

The players are not allowed to speak loudly or strongly during an exchange (yelling, reflection, abrupt gestures, blow on the table, kick to the table, etc.)
